I found this book to be unique and interesting read packed with great soda recipes both delicious and low-calorie too, which not only taste good, but they’re healthy to drink and fun to make with the entire family as well.

Chapter 1 begins with an overview of carbonation.  The beginning of the book explains what carbonation is, and gives you a run-down of its history along with how it went from a natural phenomenon to a popular everyday drink at home.

The book then continues into chapter two where Houk helps you prepare yourself before you begin to create unique, mouth-watering soda recipes that will amaze your tongue and fill your belly with great tasting foods and drinks.  She discusses the type of equipment you will need for soda making and you quickly enters chapter 3 where Houk teaches you how to make your own versions of commercially sold sodas.

As you continue reading, you will find over tons of phenomenal soda making recipes with unique flavors.  The book contains recipes for classic sodas, citrus sodas, fruit sodas, herbal and dry sodas, recipes for foods and delicious drinks made from homemade soda, cocktails, and much more…

The book even provides you many food entrées, which I thought was great.  To see how well the recipes really were I put it to the challenge by using one of their recipes for dinner.

I made the Cola-Brined Fried Chicken, on page 207.  At first, my son said ewe cola on fried chicken!  I quickly responded by saying, “you can’t say you don’t like something until you tried it!”  I made the fried chicken and my entire family loved it including my son who made the rash comment without trying it.  Actually, my son was the one who loved it the most.  He asked me to make it more often.

I enjoyed how the book provides you with the stepping-stones and techniques to make unique recipes that you definitely cannot find anywhere else.  Jill Houk the author provides the reader with extraordinary tools and techniques and easy-to-make recipes that will capture your taste buds.

This soda making recipe book was remarkable.  Houk’s book is an excellent book packed with phenomenal information and recipes.  I found this book to be interesting and enjoyable to read.  I recommend this book to others.
