The skin is one of the most sensitive of human organs, and mostly because it’s quite exposed. Hereat, it is susceptible to a wide range of reactions and allergies. Some of the most common skin conditions include fungi, eczema, hives, psoriasis, and dermatitis, among many others.

Symptoms of such conditions are numerous. Some of them can manifest as skin dryness, itching, redness or even swelling. Causes can range from the food you ingest, the medicines you take, or simple contact with your pets, or cosmetics. Most skin allergies come with certain itchiness and the urge to want to scratch. Doctors discourage scratching because, the more you scratch, the more the condition exasperates. Besides, it can also cause lacerations which can then lead to more serious infections.  

Normally a dermatologist or a trained allergist can advise on the following:  

  • Having regular or frequents baths. You can then apply sufficient amounts of miniaturization, to help keep the skin both clean and soft.  
  • A prescription medicated cream, or oral drug to alleviate any kind of pain, or discomfort.  
  • Sometimes itchiness can be treated by use of antihistamines.  
  • Some special kinds of moisturizing ointments can be applied to help ease issues of irritation and skin dryness.   

The good news is that irrespective of how serious your skin allergy can appear; you can easily treat it using a broad spectrum such as Clobetasol propionate cream.      

What does Clobetasol propionate cream treat?  

Clobetasol propionate cream generic is a safe and effective corticosteroid cream. Commonly, it is used in the treatment of skin issues that include itchiness, skin rashes, dryness and even swelling. These problems usually manifest out of a myriad of skin conditions. The common skin allergies include eczema, psoriasis, hives, fungi, and dermatitis.  

How to use Clobetasol propionate cream to treat skin allergies?  

As a medicated cream, Clobetasol propionate is formulated for external use only. The cream can only be applied to the skin.  Also, unless you have been advised by the doctor, avoid using it on the delicate areas of your body such as the face, groin or underarms.

The following steps are useful when applying Clobetasol propionate cream:  

  • Carefully read, and follow all the instructions on the label.  
  • Wash your hands just before using the cream, then wash immediately after the use.  
  • Just a thin film of the cream can be used to apply on the affected areas.  
  • However, in case of lacerations or wounds, do not attempt to cover the place with a bandage after cream application.  

What are Clobetasol propionate cream side effects?  

Some of the common side effects, which should not cause much concern include:   

  • Burning and slight irritation of the skin.  
  • Some minor redness and scaling of the skin.  

However, you should quickly consult your doctor if:  

  • You feel unusual skin rash, itching or discomfort on your face, tongue, lips or eyes.  
  • One may notice any changes in vision.  
  • You start experiencing painful blisters with pus, on affected areas of application.    

Clobetasol propionate cream should not come into contact with your eyes. In case it happens, rinse immediately with lots of clean water. Only a doctor can advise the use of this medication for children. Pregnant and lactating mothers may also need to get clearance from the doctor.

Some elderly patients are susceptible to lacerations, due to dry skin. As such, applying this medication can be akin to ingesting which can cause severe side effects. Basically, because of the often dry skin in elderly patients, the medication should be used just for the short term, and more sparingly.  It is important not to overuse, or misuse Clobetasol propionate cream medication, beyond what the doctor has prescribed.

Skin allergies can cause both pain and discomfort. But this shouldn’t incapacitate you. Instead, a doctor can prescribe a Clobetasol propionate. It’s one of the safest and most effective skin treatment creams on the market.   Clobetasol cream is known to ease many skin complications and discomforts.
