At one point in our lives, we all try to set goals and tell ourselves OK I am going to lose weight. I am going to eat right and do all the other the stuff that I suppose too so I can stay healthy, but most of us fall off the track at some point.
Let us ask ourselves the following questions: Why should one eat right? Why should we exercise? Why should we do our best to stay physically fit? Because a healthy, balanced diet provides nutrients to your body. These nutrients give you oomph and keep your heart beating, your brain active, and your muscles working. Thing that are vital so your life, so you are capable of having a happy, healthy, productive life. Nutrients help shape, strengthen bones, muscles, and tendons, and control body processes, such as blood pressure.
As the New Year sets in many of us always say this year, I am going to eat healthily and lose weight for the New Year.
As you plan to eat healthy, exercise and stay fit for the New Year, keep these three things in mind:
- You need a balanced diet helps ensure that you get all the nutrients you need. Use the USDA food guide to learn how.
- You need to eat a wide variety of foods. No one food provides all the nutrients you need. Choose a wide variety among and within the food groups.
- You need to have self-control. Use moderation as your guide for everything, including the calories you eat each day, your exercise and other activities, desserts, sweets, and even restriction. Self-control lets you eat all foods as long as you do not overdo it. Remember, too much of anything is never a good thing!
