5 Secrets to Youthful Skin (No Matter Your Age)

Whether it’s dark spots, wrinkles, or fine lines, there will come a time in life when we look in the mirror and see the signs of aging are now upon us. Although there is no stopping the aging process and what it does to our skin, there are certain products that include the best preventative aging ingredients, helping to keep your skin looking youthful and glowing.

With that in mind, here are five secrets to youthful skin (regardless of age).

Drink Plenty of Water

While we’re all aware of how important water is for keeping our body temperature regulated, joints lubricated, and helping to maintain blood pressure, staying hydrated provides invaluable benefits for your skin. Because water evaporates from your skin, this means that you need to replenish your body constantly with water. If you do not, your skin will start to become saggy and dry. Water helps to keep your skin smooth, elastic, and plump, so avoid sugary drinks and load up on H2O instead. If you aren’t getting enough water, there are lots of tips you can use, such as carrying a water bottle with you or using a slice of lemon or lime to add flavor.

Moisturize Throughout the Day

As you get older, you will become more susceptible to dry skin. This is because as we age, our glands begin producing less oil than before. You may find this problem especially pronounced on your elbows, lower legs, and forearms which can cause your skin to crack, bleed, and itch. Applying moisturizer to your skin throughout the day will help you feel as comfortable as you can in your skin, as well as reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Protect Your Skin from the Sun

If you enjoy being outdoors in the sun, you may want to think twice about exposing your skin to UV rays. One of the best things you can do to preserve your skin and keep it looking youthful is shielding it from the harsh sun. Even if you are in the car or indoors, it’s recommended you apply sunscreen. Exposure to UV rays can speed up the aging of the skin, and cause sun damage like liver spots, wrinkles, and solar elastosis. If you must go out in the sun, try and find shaded areas and wear a hat if possible.

Drink Green Tea

Green tea is packed with antioxidants such as Catechin, which is known for its anti-aging effect. Not only will it protect your skin from UV radiation, but Catechin also has tons of anti-inflammatory powers to delay the onset of wrinkles. There are numerous anti-inflammatory properties in green tea that can help reduce skin redness, irritation, and swelling. You can apply green tea to your skin to soothe sunburn and minor cuts too.

Use Oils for Your Skin

Whether you’re looking to eliminate redness, keep your skin moisturized, or stop irritation caused by rosacea or acne, there are lots of face oils that have become a beauty cabinet staple for many people across the country. Not only are they able to hydrate and nourish all sorts of skin types, but face oils also won’t leave your face oily, despite what their name may suggest. Marula oil, argan oil, and coconut oil can all help keep your skin looking youthful and fresh. There are also some good benefits when using tamanu oil for your skin too.

As we get older, our skin is where we will find the most visible changes. If you’re passionate about staying fit and healthy and want your skin to look fresh, vibrant, and youthful, all the tips and secrets listed above can help keep your skin glowing, moist, and soft.
