8 Benefits of Running That Make You Healthier (and Happier)

You can keep the body in shape with good overall health easily if you follow a workout routine or do some kind of exercises outdoor like running, swimming, jogging, etc. We have come up with some benefits of running to help you understand what you can get by running normally without going too hard by running on rough terrains which could lead to aching joints and body muscles.

So come on folks let’s read the benefits of running to get your body in shape with good health without doing dieting

Running Is Good for Your Heart

heart health

Running is the best cardio to do. Do as little as five to 10 minutes a day, at slow speeds (how does a nice 12-minute mile sound to you?) is associated with a drastically reduced risk of dying from cardiovascular disease, according to a landmark study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Compared with never-runners, regular runners have half the chance of dying from heart disease. Every time you run, you decrease your resting heart rate, so your heart doesn’t need to work as hard, says exercise physiologist Greg Justice, founder of AYC Health & Fitness in Kansas City.

Running Gives You a Natural High

When you run, your brain pumps out two powerful feel-good chemicals, endorphins, and endocannabinoids explains Justice. The latter sounds a lot like cannabis, right? That’s for a reason. Chemically, the endocannabinoids your body produces during a run aren’t all that different from marijuana’s mood-altering chemical, THC. The most studied mid-run endocannabinoid, called anandamide, was actually discovered when scientists were trying to figure out how pot gets people lit.

Running Improves Brain Health

Running is not only good for your body but also boosts your brainpower, according to a new study. Researchers found that aerobic exercise increases the neuron reserves in the hippocampus area of the brain, responsible for learning.

Running Builds Muscles

Running also helps to build different sets of body muscles and then tone them like thigh muscles, leg muscles, shoulders etc. you will feel the muscles getting ripped after some time. To increase the intensity of workout for better results with your muscles building process while running you can wear running weight vest as it adds weight to your body which increase your body workout performance without running for more time at faster speed.

Running Burns Excess Body Fat

If you are obese then running can help you a lot if you go for it on a regular basis as it improves body metabolism which burns more calories when you run thus reducing the unwanted body fat from different areas making your look great in shape you always wanted. Regular running will ensure that you won’t accumulate fat in your body even after having large meal filled with fats and carbs as it will get burned out by the body while running to keep you fit and healthy always even in old age.

Running Reduces Mental Stress

Running and other vigorous forms of exercise can reduce anxiety symptoms and help you relax, according to studies cited by the Anxiety and Depression Association of America. In some studies, in fact, running may work as well as medication to relieve anxiety.

Running Improves Depression

Multiple studies have concluded that regular aerobic exercise—and primarily jogging or brisk walking— reduces the symptoms of clinical depression.

Running Improves Memory

The mental health benefits of running also include a sharper memory. When researchers in Brazil subjected sedentary, elderly rats to just five minutes of treadmill running several times a week over the course of only five weeks, the memory center in the rats’ brains reportedly experienced a surge in production of BDNF, which led to results on rodent memory tests that were akin to those for younger rats.

Never Give Up!

If you begin to lose your motivation while running don’t give up! Find a friend to go along with you to keep you motivated.  To keep yourself hydrated while running you can take breaks in between and drink water from fruit infuser bottle to keep body hydration and energy levels up.

If you like the benefits of running shared above then start running from tomorrow and share this with your buddies to help them stay healthy and fit by incorporating running into their daily routine.
