Aromatherapy Bath Salts Recipes

Aromatherapy has been used for a long time as an alternative medicine for healing one’s mood, cognitive, psychological or physical well-being. These are basically plant and aromatic plant oils, including essential oils, and other aromatic compounds. Anyway, if you are wondering on how to make bath salts, here are some of the best ways to make your own aromatic bath salts at home.

1. Herbal Healing Salve

Ingredients – 1½ ounce each:
1. lavender flowers
2. calendula
3. St. John’s
4. chickweed

Instructions

Combine all herbs and completely cover with olive oil – having 1 inch of oil above the herbs. Turn oven on 170 degrees – if your oven does not go this low – put on the lowest setting and leave the door open. Warm the oil for 4-6 hours. Strain oil using cheesecloth, or muslin. Put oil in a small saucepan designated for herbal use. Add ¾ – 1 ounce of grated beeswax to 1 cup of oil. Keep on low setting and stir often. Once the beeswax melted, immediately pour into salve containers. You can use metal tins, glass jars, or plastic jars. Add 1 drop of lavender essential oil to each container and swirl with a toothpick. Leave lids off until cooled.

2. Luxurious Bath Salts

Relax Ingredients

1. 8 ounces Sea Salt
2. 12 drops Lavender Oil

Energize /Ingredients

1. 8 ounces Sea Salt
2. 5 drops Peppermint Oil
3. 3 drops Rosemary Oil

Invigorate/ Ingredients

1. 8 ounces Sea Salt
2. 10 drops Sweet Orange Oil
3. 5 drops Grapefruit Oil

Instructions

Begin with 8 oz of sea Salt – coarse or fine grain. Choose the container of your choice then pour the salt into a bowl and add the essential oil combination of your choice. Mix well and cover for 24 hours. Pour into your bath salt container, and enjoy.

3. Medicinal Bath Salt Recipes

This bath salt is good during cold and flu season and helps clear the sinuses.

Here is what you will need:
1. 8 ounces Sea Salt
2. 3 drops Eucalyptus Oil
3. 9 drops Lavender Oil

For tired, sore muscles

1. 8 ounces Sea Salt
2. Rosemary – 10 drops
3. Juniper – 6 drops
4. Lavender – 8 drops

PMS Moon Blend

1. 8 ounces Sea Salt
2. 5 drops bergamot
3. 3 drops geranium
4. 1 drop rose

Instructions

Begin with 8 oz of sea Salt – coarse or fine grain. Choose the container of your choice, Pour the salt into a bowl and add the essential oil combination of your choice. Mix well and cover for 24 hours. Pour into your bath salt container, and enjoy.
