4 Powerful Products for All-Natural Personal Care

Being gentle on your skin and kind to the environment is easy and affordable. Personal care products are often pricey and laden with chemicals, parabens, and other harmful substances that have a negative impact on nature.

There are various ways you can pamper or cleanse your skin with natural products you own at home. You can even make DIY personal care products as gifts for that added personal touch, which shows that you not only care about that person but the environment too!

Stock up on glass containers and get going with your homemade beauty products that are cruelty-free and eco-friendly!

Baking Soda

Baking soda, also known as bicarbonate soda, is a natural and effective cleanser with a neutralizing effect, which is kind to your skin’s pH.

For a luxurious homemade body and foot exfoliator, combine 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 1 cup of sea salt, add your favorite essential oil into the mix and enjoy. This makes an amazing gift when stored in a glass jar, perfect for any occasion.

Baking soda also has healing effects for your baby’s diaper rash. Add baking soda to their bathwater to help soothe and heal the painful rash. Gentle and effective.

Natural, raw honey which has not been processed has so many healing qualities, it is no wonder people have been using honey for personal care for decades. Honey contains antiseptic qualities which are useful to treat acne, minor wounds, and dandruff, to name a few.

If you struggle with dry and chapped lips, gently exfoliate your lips with a blend of coconut oil and sea salt and apply raw honey as a lip balm to nourish and protect your lips

If you are suffering from dry skin in the winter months, add 2 tablespoons of honey to your warm bath for a moisturizing soak. Also, if you have combination skin and want to keep acne at bay, spread raw honey on your face as a mask, wait 10 minutes and rinse with warm water. Once dry, not only will your skin feel soft, but it will prevent breakouts.

Not only is avocado a healthy and delicious fat, but it is also packed with vitamins and oil to help soothe dry skin, sunburnt skin, and dry hair.

For a nourishing facial mask, a mashed avocado, raw honey, and plain yogurt together and apply the paste to your skin. Add cucumber slices to your eyes (to reduce inflammation) and relax for 10 minutes. Rinse your face with warm water and dry with a clean cotton towel.

Avocado also assists in reducing wrinkles, scars, and blemishes because it contains amino acids and antioxidants.

coconut oil

Coconut Oil

A great alternative to seed oils for not only cooking but for personal care too! Coconut oil is a healthy fat packed with antioxidant properties to help soothe, heal, and protect hair and skin.

Combine coconut oil with spring water to use as a gentle make-up remover. Razor burn can also be treated with coconut oil as it contains properties to reduce and treat inflammation. Apply raw coconut oil directly to your skin after a shower as a powerful moisturizer.

Hair masks made with coconut oil are hydrating and soothing. Apply coconut oil to dry hair and leave for 15 minutes before rinsing if you struggle with dry hair or scalp

Add citronella oil and green tea essence to coconut oil for a natural mosquito repellent, safe for you and baby. Simply apply to your skin when mixed for an excellent insect repellent.

There are so many natural products that you can use to create the best personal care items at home that you may never have to invest in expensive serums, creams, and tonics again.
