4 Ways to Get a Better Night’s Sleep

Do you suffer from poor sleep? We all know that waking up in the morning feeling groggy and sleepy is the worst feeling, so it is so important to get a good night’s sleep. Sleep is a vital part of your health and wellbeing, so it’s a good idea to take as many measures as needed to get that full deep sleep your body craves. Here are some simple tips and tricks to help your body drift into a soothing sleep.

Blue Light Glasses

Technology devices such as phones, laptops, and TVs give off a light called blue light. Looking at screens that emit blue light can be really harmful to your eyes and can keep you up at night. Looking at a bright screen will trick your brain into thinking it is sunlight and that it is daytime, so it is important to have some tech-free time before bed. Blue light filtering glasses may help your eyes by blocking off these blue light rays, therefore making you sleep better too.

CBD Oil

CBD oil is a type of Cannabinoid, from a Cannabis plant. How does CBD work? CBD will not give the feeling of being high at all, because it contains less than 0.2% THC or none at all. However, CBD has many of the same benefits as THC and is legal to be sold. CBD oil is not only good for sleep, but it is also good for anxiety or depression. It relaxes the body and mind so that you can have a great night’s sleep.

Limit Caffeine Intake

Caffeine can make people feel more alert throughout the day, but drinking too much will then lead to keeping you awake at night. Drinking a cup of coffee can make your heart rate increase as well as your blood pressure, and while it may improve your mood at the time, it may also be the thing that keeps you up late. Everyone reacts to caffeine differently, so it’s hard to say how long the effects last, but if you are having a lot of difficulties sleeping, then it’s definitely worth taking a break from it.

Yoga

Doing a specific night-time yoga routine can really help your muscles relax and it can unwind your mind if you can incorporate meditation into the session. Some yoga types will make you feel more energized and are specifically for working out, so make sure to do some research into the right type of yoga to help you sleep and feel calm. Even just doing a simple breathing exercise is a great thing to do before bed, as it can also reduce anxiety and stress if that is one of the factors that is keeping you up at night.

Not being able to sleep is such an irritating thing to experience for everyone, as it can fully affect your day. Try some of these treatments, but if the problem persists, it is worth speaking to a doctor.
