The Best Way to Remove Skin Tags

Skin tags can be alarming the first time you encounter them, but it’s worth knowing that they’re absolutely harmless. We aren’t entirely sure what causes these minor imperfections, but we can tell that they’re universally benign.

In some instances, skin tags will simply rub off on their own. But they can also be unpleasant to look at, and skin tags can be a hassle to remove considering how small and ultimately harmless they are. But some methodologies for healing skin tags are better than others, and the best choice can sometimes vary from circumstance to circumstance.

You Don’t Need to Go to Your Doctor

There are plenty of ways that doctors can remove a skin tag – whether it’s through freezing, surgery, or litigation. But unless you have an especially large number of skin tags or you’re already visiting your doctor for a checkup or cosmetic surgery, there’s no absolute need to go to a doctor to resolve an issue with a skin tag.

But Don’t Do it By Yourself

That doesn’t mean that you should go tying a string around your skin tag or trying to freeze it off. These tasks are relatively simple, but the extra caution of relying on a specialist is about more than just being cautious. Without the proper tools and training, an attempt to remove a skin tag with household items could lead to serious bleeding and even serious infection.

Look to All-Natural Remedies

There’s a reason that remedies made from all-natural components have stood the test of time – and it’s not just the fact that they were available in abundance. The most common natural remedies for skin tags will just cause them to dry up and eventually fall off, and the formulas of these ingredients tend to include just a few key ingredients. Each serves a critical purpose.

Essential Oils

Essential oils – particularly those extracted from trees – tend to have strong antimicrobial and antifungal properties. Tea tree oil is a common choice for skin tag removal, but it’s not the only one. Thura occidentalis – more commonly known as northern or eastern white cedar – is also commonly used.

In most natural remedies, these essential oils will serve as the core ingredient driving the formula. Some people simply apply essential oils directly to their skin with a q-tip and have it fall off a few days later. And while this might produce results, mixed formulas with more complex ingredients bring their own benefits.

Calcium

While skin tags may not be harmful, they’re still caused by fungal or bacterial sources. We all know that calcium builds strong bones, but it can also help fortify your skin against the sorts of infections that cause skin tags in the first place.

This calcium can come from unusual sources too. Take calcarea carbonica. Although purely natural, this form of calcium is derived from the middle portion of a crustacean’s shell and needs to go through exhaustive processes before it can be extracted for usage. In addition to helping treat the potential root cause of skin tags, this calcium is also often used as an ingredient in acne creams.

Anti-Aging Ingredients

Holistic medicine is focused on its recognition that all symptoms are due to interrelated causes, and legitimate healing needs to focus on the whole body. That’s why many all-natural skin tag removal brands come packed with anti-aging ingredients. Aloe vera is a common choice, but it’s not the only one.

While it’s not conclusive, there are probably reasons to believe that aging can increase your odds of developing skin tags. By taking preventative measures as part of your skin tag management plan, you can worry about the skin tag removal process less often.
