Cannabidiol (CBD) is Transforming Pain Management Care

If you’ve ever been in pain, even for a short while, then you understand how it affects your life negatively. Most people deal with pain in one form or another and deal with it differently. Some pain comes from small injuries like scrapes and bruises and won’t last long, while other pain can be debilitating symptoms from illness or disease.  Pain is a necessary evil since we need it to recognize when our body is injured or needs attention in some way. It’s something people have dealt with for centuries and using homemade remedies, to advanced medical care to treat.

Recently, a nationwide shift on medical marijuana views and laws, allowing cannabis-derived medications, has fueled research on using CBD oil for pain, and many other conditions.

What Is Cannabinoids (CBD)?

There are over 400 different cannabinoids that make up the biological makeup of marijuana-hemp plants. Of these, we know two the best, Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and Cannabinoid (CBD). Unlike THC which causes a psychoactive effect most people are familiar with, CBD does not.

Typically, CBD is extracted from hemp plants and infused with some type of oil, since it’s only fat-soluble. When ingested, CBD oil gets absorbed into the bloodstream and ends up working systematically, on a molecular level, to regulate many systems in the human body.

What are Physicians Saying About CBD?

The facts are coming in through scientific studies that show cannabidiol is an effective treatment for pain. The reason it works for reducing pain is by interacting on a molecular level, with the endocannabinoid system. There are CB1 and CB2 receptors located there, and throughout different cells, within important systems in the body. Cannabinoids (CBD) have shown it can help regulate the endocannabinoid system providing benefits like, reduced inflammation, which contributes to pain.

When CBD oil is taken regularly it provides anti-anxiety properties which can greatly reduce the pain that is caused by tense muscles and stressed nerves.

Many doctors in Florida are using cannabidiol (CBD) in their local practices through the state’s MMJ program. They are treating all sorts of serious conditions with the use of CBD oil and receiving very positive outcomes.  Some of those conditions include:

  • Epilepsy
  • Crohn’s
  • Alzheimer’s
  • Parkinson’s
  • Multiple Sclerosis

What Are the Risks & Side-Effects of CBD Oil?

The facts are that cannabinoids are naturally occurring molecules within the human body already. They do not cause intoxication or any euphoric effects. In fact, the health risks are so low that the FDA recently declassified a CBD-derived medication to treat Epilepsy to a schedule 4, the lowest there is.

Studies show that CBD offers health benefits, without the risk of addiction, and free from negative side effects. However, you may experience being hungry, tired, or even more energetic, depending on how your biochemistry reacts, with the CBD oil dose you take.

Leading medical marijuana doctors are revealing some interesting new advancements in patient care, in marijuana progressive states across the country. This combined with scientific, and clinical studies, should provide the most compelling evidence yet.
