CANCER SURVIVORSHIP COPING TOOLS
“Tools for cancer’s emotional pain from a melanoma and breast cancer survivor”
I found this book to be very heartwarming, informative, and motivational. Packed with touching stories from Barbara Tako’s rocky journey in life as she shares advice and guidance on how she was able to take the traumatic obstacles that crossed her life path as she battled cancer and use them as a motivator to grow and create positive change in her life.
CANCER SURVIVORSHIP COPING TOOLS is filled with fabulous insight on how to cope, overcome and turn your life around including great advice on recovery and move on with your life after you have battled with a forever life-changing disease such as breast cancer.
Barbara Tako’s book, “CANCER SURVIVORSHIP COPING TOOLS,” gave me the insights to understand that we are not alone. About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of their lifetime.
In 2014, an estimated 232,670 new cases of invasive breast cancer were diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 62,570 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer and about 2,360 new cases of invasive breast cancer were diagnosed in men in 2014. A man’s lifetime risk of breast cancer is about 1 in 1,000.
These statistics show that millions are calling cancers similar to the ones Barbara Tako the other has battled, however, it is books like Barbara Tako’s that will help them get through this devastating time in their life.
Everyone in life goes through tragic events at some point in their life and there are some people who unfortunately are faced with obstacles every day of their lives.
The trick is how do we cope with these obstacles? Do we let the negative things that happen to us in life get the best of us and slowly destroy us making us feel angry, saddened, and depressed?
Or do you reach out to others with experience in this field to teach you how to accept the negative things that occurred in your lives and use them to empower yourself to get through times and then use them as a learning experience to strengthen and better yourself?
This is exactly what Barbara Tako book does. Tako teaches you in this book how to turn your life around by sharing her own experiences from her journal and providing tips, tools, and techniques that are easy to do and very self-rewarding.
Throughout the book, Tako opens up and lets you into her world sharing her ups and downs and the pain she endured while struggling with cancer while the obstacles she encountered kept trying to run her over.
During these personal encounters, she provides numerous tools, lists, and advice that helped her through this difficult time.
Toward the end, she discusses how to cope with the scars of possibly getting cancer again and she goes on to discuss her own scares that she encountered along with wonderful words of wisdom and advice.
Barbara Tako’s approach helped me realize that life goes on and that we cannot stop living because tragedy arises. We must reach out, find a solution, and use our experiences to improve ourselves and help others along the way.
In addition, through reading this book, I realize that everyone in this world has something, but with support, love, guidance, and reassurance anything is possible.
The power of healing (mentally, physically, or spiritually) is always an option if you are open. Barbara Tako’s book can show you how to cope, overcome, and experience the power of healing in this wonderful book.
Barbara Tako’s book is an excellent book that I highly recommend to others.
