Healing Oils: Nature’s Cure to the Most Common Skin Problems

We’ve all been kids at some point in our lives. But even if we have already passed through such a time when all that we cared for is playing, we still get wounds, cuts, and scars. However, that is not a reason to be sad. Although there is no miracle product that could erase these problems in a blink of an eye, Mother Nature has solutions to get rid of these skin problems slowly.

1. Lemon Essential Oil

Like lemon juice, lemon essential oil has properties that help fade away scars. Thanks to its rich vitamin C content, the production of collagen is triggered, keeping the skin smooth and promoting the growth of new skin cells.

A natural astringent, lemon essential oil can combat bacteria that cause zits and acne. But when using, you will have to dilute it with extra virgin coconut oil or other carrier oils. The ideal mix should be 4 to 5 drops of lemon essential oil and a quarter spoon of your preferred carrier oil.

Once you have it already, you can grab a cotton swab and then apply it to the scars. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes. Rinse with cool water. Do this as needed.

2. Lavender Essential Oil

Known for the calming effects it offers, lavender essential oil makes an excellent addition to skin care routines, too! Not only does it naturally treat scars, it also has antifungal and antibacterial properties that promote the healing of wounds.

Since lavender essential oil is just very gentle, it can be directly applied to wound and affected skin areas. Eventually, it will reduce the possibilities of leaving long-term marks.

3. Rosemary Essential Oil

Although it is a popular cooking ingredient, rosemary essential oil also offers healing benefits. Perhaps that is one reason why it is considered a sacred ingredient for the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans.

Today, it is widely used in personal care products. Again, the reasons are obvious. Aside from the fact that it combats skin problems like dermatitis, eczema, and acne, it also has antioxidants, which are good for the body.

To use, simply blend this essential oil with your preferred carrier oil. Apply it over skin marks as needed to make them fade away.

4. Tea Tree Essential Oil

Extracted from an Australian plant of the same name, tea tree oil is not your ordinary essential oil. Like Rosemary essential oil, it has been used long ago to combat a number of viruses, bacteria, and fungi. No wonder why it has been used nowadays in skin care products.

To date, tea tree essential oil is touted as one of the best remedies for acne and scarring. And as with most essential oils, it is best diluted with a carrier oil before using.

Having said all these, would you consider keeping these essential oils at home? Well, before you even decide to purchase and use these essential oils to cure your skin problems, it is best that you speak with your doctor first. You never know how your body reacts to these natural healing oils. After all, prevention is still better than cure.
