5 Reasons Why You’ll Benefit to Join a Gym Right Now

Many people pay for gym memberships and then they hardly go. This can lead to the conclusion that signing up for a gym membership is a waste of money. However, as with everything else, you get what you put in. Let’s say you go to ClubFitness.US, sign up for some of the many classes available, attend regularly and really put in the effort. Chances are, you will get better results than someone who only goes once a week and puts in a half-hearted attempt. Here are some of the reasons you should give the gym a shot.

exercise

It reduces stress

Most of have more stressful lives than we’d like to admit. While you may not be able to get rid of all your stressors immediately, you can forget about them for an hour or two while you exercise. If you work out regularly, you’ll feel the benefits even when you aren’t in the gym. This is because exercise increases the amount of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin in your brain. These are chemicals which help to boost your mood.

exercising

It helps you to lose weight

You already know you need to get moving if you want to lose some pounds. However, many people find it difficult to find the motivation to do this on their own. Some may also feel they don’t have the range of equipment they need at home. If you sign up for scheduled sessions at a good gym, you will have access to group sessions, state-of-the-art equipment, and helpful staff. This is more than enough support to help you shed those extra pounds.

exercise

It helps you to get in the daily recommended physical activity

It is recommended that adults participate in a minimum of 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity each week or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity. You should also do strength training exercises for all major muscle groups. Most people don’t meet these requirements. However, if you sign up for the gym and register for some classes, you have no excuse. If you need an added incentive, one study found that joining a health club resulted in increased aerobic and resistance activity levels and better cardiovascular health.

improving memory

It can prevent cognitive decline

Your brain’s function naturally declines as you get older and dementia can speed things up. Exercising regularly between the ages of 25 and 45 can help prevent or delay the degeneration of the hippocampus. This is the part of the brain which is responsible for learning new things and retaining memories. If you want to remain sharp in your golden years, get moving now and remain active for as long as possible.

It can make you more creative and productive

Who doesn’t want to get their creative juices flowing and get more done in a day? Going to the gym and getting regular exercise can help. When you feel good and your stress is low, you think clearer and you’re better able to focus on one task.  If you could use a boost in your professional or personal life, consider heading to the gym.

Of course, you can exercise without going to the gym, but many people find a little structure to be more effective than working out at home. Also, there a social component which shouldn’t be underestimated. If you’re looking to get moving more, sign up for the gym, give it your all, and reap the benefits.
