Natural Solutions for Reversing Adrenal Insufficiency

Did you know…?

Orange colored endocrine glands that are found on the tops of both kidneys. Each gland is made up of the Medulla and the Cortex. The Medulla produces epinephrine and norepinephrine (adrenaline). The Adrenal Cortex produces other hormones necessary for fluid and electrolyte (salt) balance in the body.

In this article, you’ll learn and discover the natural solutions for reversing adrenal insufficiency.

What is  Adrenal Insufficiency?

Adrenal insufficiency is a condition that occurs when your adrenal glands become impaired, therefore they don’t produce high enough levels of several important hormones. In people with adrenal insufficiency, levels of the hormones cortisol and aldosterone (a type of mineralocorticoid) are both usually lower than in healthy people.

The adrenal glands are truly amazing in that they pump out dozens of different life-dependent hormones daily. Some are the so-called “stress hormones’” like cortisol that have many crucial roles within the body: regulating electrolyte balance, managing fluid retention, and body weight, helping you sleep and concentrate, giving you a sex drive, and much more. This is why adrenal fatigue and hormonal imbalances are usually noticeable and impact all areas of your life.

Types of adrenal disorders

 Addison’s Disease

This is caused by illnesses of the adrenal glands themselves, including adrenal cancer, infections or bleeding (called “primary adrenal insufficiency“). These types are less common and usually cause physical damage to the adrenal glands that can be detected.

Primary adrenal insufficiency

This is diagnosed when about 90 percent of the adrenal cortex has been destroyed.

Secondary adrenal insufficiency

This is much more common and develops despite no physical illnesses in the adrenal glands, but rather stress-related or autoimmune reactions taking place. This still results in serious hormonal imbalances and symptoms.

According to the National Institute of Health, symptoms of adrenal crisis include:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Confusion or coma
  • Dehydration
  • Dizziness or light-headedness
  • Fatigue
  • Flank pain
  • A headache
  • High fever
  • Loss of appetite
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Low blood pressure
  • Nausea
  • Profound weakness
  • Rapid heart rate
  • Rapid respiratory rate (see tachypnea)
  • Slow, sluggish movement
  • Unusual and excessive sweating on face or palms
  • Vomiting

Tips, Techniques & Advice

  • Make sure you are taking supplements for overall good health. If you are not taking these basic supplements, we recommend Enfuz from Vitabase. When you take a small packet of pills each day, you get all the basic nutrition you need. Each packet contains a multivitamin, CoQ10 (for heart health), Omega 3, Vitamin D-3, a probiotic, and a powerful set of antioxidants to help your body fight off disease.
  • Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) is a hormone that the pituitary gland releases when it gets strained. This very possibly will progress into the occurrence of biochemical events which can release substances that have a tendency to raise blood pressure. Because of the very existence of this hormone, sodium return and potassium excretion can develop. Consequently, stress will not only challenge the adrenal glands but could also allow the body to retain water, a potential cause of hypertension.
  • Be sure to follow your physician’s guidance and take your medicine as prescribed. It is important that you follow a sensible diet. Adding supplements would be beneficial.
  • Distress or stress that never gets alleviated is a very important reason why people experience “adrenal burnout” with all of its indications which can consist of immune deficiency and degenerative diseases.
  • Eliminating too much steroid will require monitoring of high blood sugar while adhering to a good diet and medication program, replenishing potassium, controlling high blood pressure, aggressive treatment of infections, balancing calcium intake, and adjusting how much steroid you take at times when you may be ill, just had surgery, or were injured.

Treatment

  • Avoid stress this can be damaging to the adrenal gland.
  • Eat foods that contain germanium – garlic, onions, shiitake mushrooms, and pearl barley.
  • Exercise regularly to reduce the stress and support the adrenal glands.
  • Foods that are stressful to the adrenal gland are fats, fried food, ham, pork, highly processed foods, red meats, sodas, sugar, and white flour.
  • Highly toxic substances to the adrenal gland are alcohol, caffeine, and tobacco.
  • Include in your weekly diet salmon, tuna or other deep water fish at least 3 times a week.
  • Make Sure your daily intake of fresh fruit and vegetables is increased especially the green leafy ones.
